Its no secret that Germany has not lived up to the expectations for the world cup so far. With such a deep line up they should be really good and winning at least one group stage game, but the recent game against Costa Rica was disappointing to say the least. We need to know what is seriously going on because this is not a good team right now. Read more to figure out what's going on in Berlin.
As we saw in the most recent game they are not together. This could be a very leading factor, No team chemistry is there even though most of the team is teammates. We saw, Zac with a short temper, Icey not being able to finish, Ryan ball chasing, Egg having a poor performance. This is not the players that we expect to make simple and bad mistakes like this. Credit does go to Costa Rica for such a good game and a good competition.
The game, what happended?
This game was bound to be competitive as both of these teams have competitive mindsets and want to win and be the best. Which is why it was so close but throughout the game we saw a out performance by Costa Rica. MJ had the MOTM in this game with 4 goals and a Assist in a 5-3 win for Costa Rica. Some credit can go to Germany for such a close game although playing sloppily. Zac had 2 goals and a Assist and Icey had one goal besides what I counted to be 15 chances. As I have said multiple times Germany was not having a good game and they lost because of that. There was a time when we thought Germany could tie it with a penalty making it 4-3 but that obviously didn't work out well.
Changes to be made.
Obviously changes need to be made but what are they? A change could be getting more into the depth chart and giving more players more playing time. Another change could be changing positions. Putting Icey at more of a centeral midfield position and moving Zac up and having more of a holding defense could work. But of course these changes are hypothetical. What Germany needs to do is just play their game and control the game. Germany has the skill but not tatics.
